Things you need to know

A brand is an important distinguishing feature. Customers often recognize a company by its logo, slogan, a certain color combination or even a melody. The easiest way to protect a trademark is through a national and / or international registration. You can of course also use your trademark without such registration, only with a registration you will receive proof of (i) when you started using the trademark, (ii) the exact content, wording and color of the trademark, and (iii) the exact classes for which protection is claimed can be very helpful, especially if you want to assert your brand against similar brands of competitors. A company name or a domain name does not meet these requirements. For this reason, trademark registration is recommended.
